St Peter's School

Single Storey Extension

The project comprised of a single storey extension involving a steel frame to roof structure with 3 layer felt flat roof with pitched roof detail forming an over hang canopy detail. External works consisted of a new soft play area, rainwater harvesting tank, boundary landscaping and construction of a new car park including flood light installation.

An extensive internal refurbishment was also carried out which included the relocation of the school reception classrooms, Head Teachers office, part rewire of the school and mechanical installation. Due to the length of the contract the majority of the works were carried out in term time therefore good site segregation and management were paramount. This was implemented by liaising with the Head Teacher on a daily basis whilst also documenting the plans with Risk Assessments and Method Statements also discussing changes with our Health and Safety Consultant on a regular basis. As the project was notifiable under the CDM regulations we did receive a visit from the HSE although no issues were found. The project was completed on time, within budget and to the client’s satisfaction.
